What is the expected salary after 8th CPC?
It depends on your current Pay Level and Basic Pay.
For example, if you’re in Level 10 with ₹56,100 basic pay: New Basic = ₹56,100 × 2.86 = ₹1,28,414
Add 30% HRA (for metro) and other allowances = ₹1.75 lakh+ gross monthly salary
What is the 8th Pay Commission in 2025?
The 8th Pay Commission is the upcoming central govt salary revision expected to take effect from 1st January 2026. It will revise:
Basic Pay
Pension
Fitment Factor
HRA, TA, and other allowances
The committee may be announced anytime in 2025, following the 10-year CPC cycle.
How to calculate CPC formula?
The standard formula in any CPC is:
New Basic Pay = Old Basic Pay × Fitment Factor
For the 8th CPC, the expected fitment factor is 2.86.
Then add HRA, TA, and other allowances for your total in-hand salary.
How do you calculate 8 percent commission?
This is not CPC-related, but still simple: 8% of ₹50,000 = ₹50,000 × 0.08 = ₹4,000
Use this general formula: Commission = (Amount × Commission%) / 100
What is the new formula for pension calculation?
Post-8th CPC, pension will be: New Pension = Old Basic Pension × Fitment Factor (2.86)
If you’re a new retiree, the pension is: 50% of Last Drawn Basic Pay
Family pension = 30% of last drawn basic.
What is the fitment factor of 8th Central Pay Commission?
Most Practical and expected fitment factor is: 2.86
Why? Because previous CPCs followed this pattern:
6th – 1.86
7th – 2.57
8th – 2.86 (expected)
It gives around a 35–40% salary increase.
Will DA become zero after 8th Pay Commission?
Yes — 100%!
Just like in past CPCs, DA (Dearness Allowance) will reset to 0% when 8th CPC is implemented. Then it will start increasing again every 6 months based on inflation.
What is the 8th CPC Committee?
It’s the official group of experts and govt officials that will study pay structure, allowances, and pension, and then recommend revised pay for govt employees.
It hasn’t been officially formed yet (as of July 2025), but is expected soon.
What is the salary of IAS?
An entry-level IAS officer (Level 10) currently gets:
Basic Pay: ₹56,100
HRA, DA, TA, and other perks
After 8th CPC: New Basic = ₹56,100 × 2.86 = ₹1,28,414
Gross salary = ₹1.75–₹1.9 lakh/month approx.
How to calculate fitment factor?
No need to calculate — it’s a fixed multiplier decided by the pay commission.
For 8th CPC, it’s expected to be 2.86.
So, just multiply your current basic by 2.86 to get new basic pay or pension.
How to calculate 8th CPC pay matrix?
No official matrix is released yet. But you can get a preview by applying the 2.86 factor to your current 7th CPC Pay Matrix.
Example:
Level 6, ₹35,400 → ₹35,400 × 2.86 = ₹1,01,244 (Expected New Basic Pay)
How can I calculate pension amount?

For old pensioners:New Pension = Old Pension × 2.86
For new retirees:50% of Last Basic Pay × 2.86
